End of the Year Notes

Well, it is here, the last week of school! There is a lot going on this week. Our schedule will be as follows:

Tuesday:
Early morning: They will be cleaning out their bins and taking home what they don't need.

               11:20-2:30- School Picnic

2:30-3:30- OPA is coming. He is the grandfather of a friend of mine. He came to America  through Ellis Island and has some interesting stories to tell. He was also in the Hitler Youth Camp during WWII. He was 18 years old and he built planes for Hitler's army. However, the students will learn about the dictatorship mentality. They will hear how he learned that America was where he wanted to live after dealing with the kindness of the U.S. Army after the war. If you are available, you are welcome to come.

Wednesday:

Part of the morning: cleaning out bins and lockers, etc. They will be taking everything home Wednesday since we will be going to the fifth grade graduation and then going straight to the Capital. Since we won't be back until after the bell rings, we won't be going back in the school.

12:35-3:00- Movie earned because of our FISH awards. We will be watching SHILOH, definitely a classic! I will be supplying juice, popcorn, and my last "snort" brownies.

Thursday

9:00-9:30 Fifth grade graduation which all the fourth graders and myself will be attending. Parents who will be chaperoning can wait outside the gym or stand in the hall until we come out of the celebration. If they choose to come to school before 9:00, they are welcome to join the class in the ceremony.

                   9:30-11:15/11:30-Drive to Madison.

11:30-12:15- Eat Lunch-hopefully it will be nice out so that we can eat on the Capital's grounds. If not, we will go to the Capital lunchroom-it will be crowded!

                12:15-1:00- Veteran's Museum- This will be a self-tour.

                  1:00-2:00- Capital Tour

2:00-3:45/4:00- Ride back to school and the school year comes to an end and Mrs. Ceel starts to cry. Ha!!

Friday FISH Meeting

This past Friday was the last FISH Meeting for the year. So Mrs. Franz, Mrs. Berka, and I took that opportunity to say goodbye to Mitchell. It was quite emotional for us. My daughter, my husband, and a dear friend were able to make it for the meeting. I am sooo going to miss your children! The picture below is one I will always remember but I wish Rhianna was able to be in it.
