ROOM 106 certainly soared this week!!

At the FISH assembly on Friday, our class received the gym award for working hard, the golden tray award for working on picking up all the garbage off the lunch tables, and last but not least, the Principal's award for our strong sense of community! WOW! Our class is living up to its name, TEAM SOAR!!

We want to welcome Mr. Sevilla to our class!!

 Hello parents/guardians. My name is Martin Sevilla and I am very privileged to be working with your children this year as I complete my student teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I look forward to learning as much from them as they will learn from me and will be sure to make our learning experiences together as meaningful as possible. One thing that most people notice about me is that I'm very tall. I'm only 4 inches short of being 7 so that's what kids first notice about me. I'm very athletic and love to run whenever I get the chance. I have 3 brothers, but no sisters. I have  also have a twin, but I don't think we look nearly alike. I strongly believe that every single student has the ability to be successful at anything they put their minds on and that it's up to educators like myself to guide and encourage students down that path to success. With that in mind, every single one of your children will be cherished and held to my utmost expectations because of my strongest belief that they have that success in them that's just waiting to come to the surface.

Just a reminder that Mitchell in Motion is tomorrow and our class is signed up for 9:00 A.M. In case any parents are able to stop by and watch us. We can't wait!!

WHERE in the United States is Mr. Ceel?

We are learning and exploring about the mountain regions of the United States in our Inquiry Unit. The students will be doing a lot of reading and exploring about the northwest and the southwest.  They will then do a presentation to the class showing what they wondered, questioned, and learned. So, to enrich this unit, Mr. Ceel, my husband, is traveling around the northwest to show my students first hand what they are learning in their Inquiry Unit. Then in the winter, he will explore the southwest. Notice he is waiting for the weather to get cold up here so that he can go to the southwest where it is still warm. He is a smart man! Be sure to ask your children where Mr. Ceel was today!

First Week of School!

What a great start to the year! Room 106 has a fantastic group of students. They worked hard on the Cool Tools so that they develop strong habits and routines. They are already getting back in the swing of school, just take a look at these photos! It is going to be a wonderful year of learning!
